Craft Letter Decorating

I am doing a craft off again with some friends. This time, we decorated letters for each other. It was my first time decorating craft letters. It is fun! Here are my letters. You can watch the video to hear more about each letter.

So far, everyone likes how they turned out. I'm hoping they survive the mail okay. I might have to decorate some more letters soon. Please let me know what you think.

January Cards

I am part of a homemade card exchange group on Facebook. I started the group actually. We try to send cards to each other every month. I think I only missed one month last year. I hope to get every month this time. The cards I made for January are nothing fancy but I think they are cute. I tried to send uplifting, encouraging messages for the beginning of the year.

Washi Tape Owl for Wall

I finished this project up tonight. I had originally started making something else and then changed my mind. I like how the owl turned out and will probably hang him up somewhere soon. I need to get some of the Command Strips first.

This is the template I used. I got it at a store last year. It is made of felt.

I used carbon paper and traced the pattern onto a piece of wood. I then cut out the eyes with my scrollsaw because I was doing something different at the time.

As you can see the wholes for the eyes and nose are big. That was fine back then, and I just covered them up for what I ended up doing. If I make any more of these, I will not cut out anything.

And the finished owl. I think he is cute. I put a coat of ModPodge on it to seal the tape a little. The eyes are stickers.

Well, what do y'all think of the owl? I think if I do another one I will use different tapes that aren't quite as bold, but otherwise I am happy with it.

Valentine Disco Owl of Love

I made this owl up for Valentine's Day, but ended up giving it to my niece. It is another of the cardboard owls I got at Walmart for $2.50. I think it turned out cute and I know at least one other person who liked it, so that's good. :)

I used the glitter glue on the eyes, nose, and wings that I used on the other owl, but I used real glitter on the heart.  The headband is a piece of glittery washi tape.

I called it the Disco Owl of Love.
